Horst Gasthaus German Restaurant, Specialties are German foods, Mostly Pork served with a Fantastic German Dining Experience.

We wanted something different so we made reservations at Horst Gasthaus German Restaurant and Bar. Different, it definitely was.

We were pleased to see things were pretty much as expected. Homemade quality German food, fabulous music, with nice authentic decor, and waitresses dressed in a variety of German costumes.

I had a bowl of the Goulasch Suppe to begin with and followed with the Horst Gasthaus Platte. Both were very nice but served with a selection of store bought breads. A bit disappointing as homemade breads would have improved the experience greatly. I was served German potato salad and cucumbers in vinegar before the meal, The meal itself consisted of Sauerbraten, Bratwurst, Knackwurst, a dumpling, sweet red cabbage, and sauerkraut. Everything was excellent.

Our second dinner began with a bowl of the Goulasch Suppe as well, and the Horst Gasthaus Special, consisting of diced tender pork with sauteed mushrooms, ham green peppers and onion. In addition, it came with mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and red cabbage.

The deserts were fabulous, and very large portions, Black Forest Cake and also a German Chocolate Cake, both with whipped cream topping.

The entire meal came to about $50 before the tip. Our waitress was friendly, and gave excellent service. The entire restaurant was immaculately clean. We loved it.

If they change their menu to include fresh baked breads the experience will be perfection!
